It's the
4th of July and I'm running behind
With
my report of the Orlando show which sure was fine!
Cevo
and 13 year old Stephanie were there once again... (pronounced agane)
Helping
us set up and doing their thang.
Last year
Stephanie snoozed under the table, it's true ...
But this
year she assured me ... "Grandma, I'll help you!"
And help
she did, setting up Friday and packing up Sunday for sure... (pronounced
shore)
But she
caught up on sleep under the table ...
(Are
you ready for this??? :{<>)
"Because",
(she said) ...
"Granddad,
Grandma & Mom??????? You three snore!!!!"
Well, we all know that's probably true about Mr Evo, but Cevo & I are ladies, and as we all know... ladies never snore. ;}>
Some new faces at this show! Impressions From The Heart, who also has a fantastic store in Casselberry, FL ... KT Designs from Advance, NC ... City's Originals from El Paso, TX ... Creative Memories from Longwood, FL ... and Uncommon Threads from Palm Harbor, FL. It's always exciting to see new exhibitors at the shows!
I didn't have a chance to make it to other booths to see "whut was happening", but... we did have a sheet out for stampers to give us their impressions of the show. Sooooooooo, here's the feed-back we received:
"Carolyn at Zimprints' tip on shrink plastic: sand both sides of your shrink plastic so the plastic won't stick to itself when it curls". Demos in the booths were "top of the list" for lots of stampers ... allowing them to see "first hand" new techniques and use of products. Also, the availability of catalogs to take home and peruse at leisure was a plus.
And speaking of availability? Many stampers mentioned to me Sunday that they were sooooooo glad they came back for the second day. They were able to see the demos up close at the booths, talk to exhibitors and ask questions.
Well, the foregoing was only some of the highlights of the show. I didn't even get to the myriads of teensy, weensy baby toads outside that were soooooo cute ... barely 1/2 inch in length ... apparently just born and trying their darndest to steal the show. Or to the elevator that got stuck in our hotel so that Stephanie & I had to knock on a window to get re-entry back into the hotel so we could take the stairs back down to our room, or the humidity streaming down the walls in our first room before we were moved next door, or Stephanie, Cevo & I solving the mystery (Nancy Drew style) of the guy taking a rolled blanket out the back of his car and going to the front seat and emerging with same rolled blanket but stroking it as he went back to his room (not sure if it was a puppy or a kitten but our instincts tell us it was one of the above).
And the rest of the story? Orchids to all of you that made it to the end of this report. We appreciate you... Yes! We do!
And thanks to Norma Jean J and Mary S for being there to help us once again! You ladies are #1 in our book.
