Heyyy, Folks...
OK... I really wasn't there but hope most of you that were there didn't notice! I had a "stomach" thingy going on... but hope I hid it well. I get this every now and then, must be an "evo" thingy. But it also affects my brain! Anyone else ever notice a connection between brain and stomach???? Nawww, I knew you hadn't. Must be another "evo" thingy.
Okey Dokey... this is what I remember of the Daytona show.
Donna Kazee did a magnificent job of co-ordinating this show. I detected no glitches. Mr Evo and I arrived around 7:30 Thursday nite to set up. We had until 10 pm. By my watch, lol, Donna was waiting for me to leave too early .... seems my watch was 5 minutes slow, but she was good ... she was patient... she watched me shove the last bin under the table and make my way toward the door she was still holding open for me to leave... she wanted to leave and go to bed! Thank you, Donna, for your patience and for your Daytona show.
I would like to say we have done every show Donna has sponsored. Not so. The first show Donna sponsored, I had to beg someone to go with me to Jacksonville to see! Can you even imagine that???? :{<> Donna sponsored the first rubber stamping show ever to hit Fla, and I was teaching rubber stamping classes here in Ocala. I begged, I cajoled, I bribed friends to go with me. Mr Evo (who really wasn't interested in rubber stamping at that time) took pity on me and said, "If you really want to go, I'll go with you".
Whoa. What a day that was! We drove the 1 and 1/2 hours to get from Ocala to Jacksonville and spent the whole day in a wonder world. Driving that 1 and 1/2 hours back, I deluged him with the "stuff" I had bought. He laughed the whole way home... watching me look at stamps in my powder puff mirror, reading the stamps backwards ... he was hooked as good as I was!
That was the beginning of our rubber stamping "Evolving Images" show story. The next year we did 3 shows, and, of course, Donna's was the first one we did.
This year, we're doing, ohhhh, I'm afraid to count... at least 16 shows. And, once again... we were in Daytona for Donna's show. Wouldn't miss it, couldn't miss it. Will never, if we can help it, miss it. Donna gives her all for her show each year. Innumeral stampers from the Jacksonville area make sure she has back-up for all the special things she does.
Thanks to all of you who let us know who you are. I've acknowleged a few on the Fla rubberstampers list, already, but I missed mentioning a LOT of you! Sorry... blame it on the "evo stomach thingy".
I was impressed that at this show, we had people from NY, Michigan, and many states from the north. Good to see you here! And thank you for coming.
And thanks to all of you that walked up and said... "Where's Cevo?" She was supposed to be there, but her knee kept her at home. :{/ Cevo, you were missed.
Okey dokey... time for Evo to go to bed. Leaving Thursday for the Puyallup show in Washington... see you there!
