Heyyyyy, Folks...

Another terrific show! The weather was wonderful, the peach trees were in bloom ... springtime in Georgia!

As usual, we drove up to this show and stayed a couple of extra days to visit with our son Dennis and family in Kennesaw. We always look forward to doing that, and this year we even got to participate in grandson Paul's 8th birthday party Monday night. What fun!

Cecilia (Cevo) and Stephanie drove up Friday night to join us ... their first time ever for this show. And our other granddaughter, Lauren, joined us Saturday ... soooo Saturday night was creativity time for the two girls at the hotel. They couldn't wait to dive into their goodies ... Tins from Bonnie's Best ... Hand Painted Tissues and Doo-Dad's from Enchanted Ink ... Leaf Foil and Red Liner Tape from Amy's Magic ... Charms and embellishments from Just Jhone ... and a collection of nifty stuff from Wonderland Emporium which included vintage bottle caps, miniature dice and other wondrous stuff.

Cevo was inspired by her cardstock from Marco's Papers and background stamps from Stamp Camp but waited until she returned home to create her card.

Friday night, arriving back at the hotel after setting up our booth and dinner, I walked straight into a "stranger's" arms. No, wait! This was no stranger ... it was Kathie Buckner ... MooStamp! She just looked like a stranger!

The last time I saw Moo, she couldn't walk, was in a wheel chair, weight out of control and many, many mysterious health problems of unknown cause ... but still always with a smile on her face. The MooStamp I saw this past weekend was still smiling but also walking! No wheelchair in sight ... Light on her feet ... the direct result of a doctor finally pinpointing a food allergy that was causing her problems. A miracle for Kathie, indeed.

MooStamp has been stamping for years and brought to this show her new and new-to-stamping friend, Cheryl. (I hope I spelled your name right, Cheryl.) And from their faces ... it was obvious they both were having a ball at this show! Moo ... you made my weekend. I love you, Lady.

Another smiling face seen in the crowd on both Saturday and Sunday was Rose of Stewart Superior. Rose's first love is miniature doll houses, and it was from her that I learned that rubber stamping is used extensively in decorating these tiny works of art.

Rose showed me an article, "Rubber Stamping Basics for Miniatures", in the October 1998 issue of Miniature Collector Magazine ... written by Bette Jo Chudy ... showing rubber stamping of bedspreads, walls for wallpaper and borders, floors, furniture, linens, curtains, towels, wall-hangings, and even a fireplace! I was absolutely enthralled by this article.

For you stampers in Michigan, here's the addy for that store which not only sells miniatures but also rubber stamping supplies:
Shadow Box 3026 Glade St Muskegon, MI (616) 737-0320
I tried to call the telephone number today to talk with them but got a busy signal. From all appearances, though, they are still indeed a store there.

Ben of Stewart Superior was also at the show on Sunday, and I missed getting his picture! I'll get you next time for sure, Ben!

Thanks to Debbie Harrell of Alabama for helping us set up Friday and doing an outstanding job of demoing and demoing and talking and talking and smiling and smiling both Saturday and Sunday. Your energy was boundless, and your creations were a wonder to behold, Debbie!

I haven't had a chance yet to unpack the demo stuff you did, Debbie, but when I do... I want to put them on a web page for all to see. Your ideas are amazing.

And thanks to special helpers Stephanie and Lauren for your enthusiastic help! You were both a welcome addition to our booth. And Lauren? We couldn't have packed up as fast as we did without you. We were sooooo glad you were there to help.

And thanks to all you stampers for being at this show. You came, you saw, you shopped, you enjoyed!

Photos from the show? Yes! Photos of Stephanie and Lauren's Saturday night creations? Yes! And Cevo's card? You'll find them all here and more:
