Heyyyyyyy, Folks...

New shoes! That's my "Evo tip for the day" if you're flying this year.

Mr Evo bought brand-spanking-new shoes the day before we flew out for the Grapevine, TX show. I wore my two-year-old-comfortable-as-all-get-out -but-definitely-worse-for-the-wear shoes... knowing in my heart I was inviting snickering and elbow nudges from new-shoe-wearers if we actually did have to take off our shoes at the airport and send them through the x-ray machine.

I sighed with relief as we stood in line and saw that the passengers ahead of us were not having to take their shoes off.

Mr Evo was selected for a full body search as he went through the metal detector, and ... Mr Evo forgive me, but ... I did snicker. Couldn't help myself. I did restrain myself from elbow-nudging the people behind me, though.

Seconds later, I was invited to have my fanny pack explored. No problem. I carry a lot of change in it, so it's used to being explored at airports. But then... my worst nightmare came true. I was asked to take off my two-year-old-comfortable-as-all-get-out-but-definitely-worse-for-the-wear shoes ... one at a time ... and put them up on the counter for God and everyone to see not only the outside but also the insides and have them, horror of horrors, "sniffed" by a sniffing machine! :{<>

I'm happy to say that I did survive the shoe ordeal with self-esteem intact. I did feel a tad embarrassed, though, when we arrived home Monday night, passed by that same security check-point and everyone there did the snickering-elbow-nudging-thingy and whispered ... "That's her... the one we were telling you about!" :{/

Some of the highlights of the show that I observed (and I assure you, what I saw was only the "tip of the iceberg", because I could in no way see all that was there to be seen):

Marco's Paper has two new exciting products... (1) Crushed Leaf SPARKLES... a lot like the Diamond Dust papers in appearance but with a smooth surface and (2) Ragcote Coated Cover... a 100% cotton paper, matte-finished on both sides and acid free.

Wilde Ideas/Xyron has the 150 "X" dispenser replacement cartridges which I understand are highly desirable... and also has Carl Rotary cutters and lots of different blades that were new to me.

Art Gone Wild and Inky Antics have new booth looks that is "state of the art". I was totally impressed and hope to have one like it when I grow up.

StampLand was demoing Judi*Kin's dusters with a flair that kept crowds of stampers watching.

Bark Skin Journals caught my eye at Rubber Monger's... absolutely gorgeous! Plus they have many new hand-carved stamps that are soooo nice.

Angel's Attic, known for their verse stamps, has lots of new verses... mounted and unmounted. And, you all know how I feel about verses. :}>

Morning Star has new tulip stamps that I "tip-toed" up to see ...

In Paula Best's booth... "scales" were abundant! This was my first stroll through her booth, and I love her scale or "fan" stamps. Inter-changeable and infinite possibilities of design with these stamps.

Stamp Zia blew both Mr Evo and myself away with her new display boards... wish I had taken a picture to show you. I could live forever in a room surrounded by these and never get bored.

Stamp Camp has wonderful wonderful new background stamps. Mary Kay's been a very busy lady!

Suze was surrounded, as usual, by stampers watching her fabulous demos. She has a new product... "To Dye For" Inks for a stained glass effect that looks really neat.

Heirloom Productions, take a bow for another great show! This year in celebration of their 10th anniversary of Heirloom Rubber Stamp Conventions, Pat and Eileen have introduced a new "thang" . Each stamper that comes to an Heirloom show gets a fortune cookie that could contain Rubber Bucks to spend with your vendors of choice. That's not only a good thang but also a fun thang!

Hoping to see a lot of you at the San Mateo show February 23rd & 24th ... Need details?

Print out the page or this email for $1 off all one-day admissions, knock three times and whisper, "Evo sent me"... then crack open that fortune cookie and hopefully find Rubber Bucks to spend!

Mega thanks to our booth helpers, Vyx and Rubber Rabbit and Faux Floater St Flossie and Janet DM and ... to all of you who came by to see us. You, you know, are the real reason this show was so fantastic. Soooo, take a bow, too ... you deserve it!
