Heyyyyy, Folks...
The Grapevine show brought us surprises galore ...
Snow & Sleet, Flamingoes, wrong hotels and more!
The first surprise was the hotel reservation I made ...
Thought it was Wyndham Summerfield Suites but was not where we stayed.
We were at the Wyndham Gardens further east & to the right...
All by ourselves and not another stamper in sight! :{<
The next surprise came Sunday when it started to snow ...
Was a treat for us and Grapevine too, don'tcha know.
They don't get much of that white stuff and we get none...
Was hard to stay inside and miss the "It's snowing!" fun!
But we did sneak out a time or two ...
To stick out our tongues to catch a flake or two ...
To hug our arms tight and enjoy the white fluttering air...
Then come back in with snow in our hair.
This was Cevo's first trip to the Grapevine show, and I really enjoyed introducing her to all of you who she knows by email and computer but not in person. And for the record, she had a ball in Grapevine!
There was a little excitement at the DFW airport as we arrived. Our plane was held up by a couple of speeding police cars on the tarmac for a few minutes. Match that up with a couple of hovering helicopters, and you get the feeling something is going on for sure. Because of a possible security breach, everyone was evacuated from all the terminals but the one we arrived at, so we didn't really know what was going on until we watched the news later. Hope none of you were caught in that wait ... we felt really, really lucky not to be affected by it.
This was our first show for trying out our new booth ... a tad smaller and going up in the air with product on our new clear acrylic shelves. We still have a few bugs to iron out in the set-up arrangement ... so a couple more shows under our belt, and we should know whether this will really work for us or not.
We did set up wrong at this show, for sure. We had a traffic bottle-neck on the right side of the booth where the EvoTemplates were, and many of you told us you couldn't get near there Saturday or get close enough to see my demo. Sunday with the usual smaller crowd was better, as those of you who came back did find out.
Dee of Rubba Dub Dub discovered our Mini-Thangs at this show and did some really neat stuff on them, so those of you going to the Auntie Amy Riverside, CA show January 25th, be sure to check Dee's demo out! She'll have a supply of the Thangs there for you, also.
Orchids to our booth helpers! Brenda and Lisa and Janet and Mike ... you were wonderful! You made the show soooooo easy for us.
And now, it's that time again ... pictures of the trip:

Y'all keep warm now, you hear?
