Heyyyy, Folks... Mr Evo and I just returned last night from the Greenville, SC, show and are preparing to leave tomorrow for a Scrapbooking show in Phoenix, so here's a quickie report on Greenville. Yeah, I know... on the road again... and we're soooo lucky to have Cevo here to take care of the home front while we're gone.

Mega thanks to Brenda B, Beverly B and Julia S for your help in our booth! You were all a delight to see again and be with. We appreciate you!

A treat for us... computer whiz number 1 son Dennis and granddaughter Lauren came up from Atlanta and spent the weekend with us. Lauren joyfully demoed folded flowers made from our plate #60 and was reluctant to stop even after all the plates had sold and we were writing up orders for them to ship after the show. Sunday she demoed Rub Ons and Cork for awhile but then found a friend ... Amy's Magic's daughter. From then on, she simply enjoyed being a 10 year old.

The Calligraphy house was the booth right behind us at this show, and it was a delight to meet Karen, the new owner. Her vibrancy lit up our half of the show room. South Carolina stampers ... you are sooooo blessed!

Thanks to all of you who came by and said hello! A lot of old friends and a lot of new ones.

Our stay at the Phoenix Inn was, as usual, delightful! I really, really love this hotel and the friendliness of the people there. And, unlike the motel we stayed at in North Georgia on the way up... our keys to the room worked! We didn't have to go to the front desk to ask to be let into the room each time we left. And, there were no unexplainable night-long creaking noises from the room above. And, all the lamps worked with plenty of light over desks and tables. And, the electricity stayed on! Well, as you can see we weren't overly fond of the motel we hit on the way up, but then our trip wouldn't have been as exciting without it. ;}>

Don't know what it is about Marva of The Rubber Stamper and our meals (remember Atlanta?), but as she stood talking with us Saturday night, I managed to tip my beautiful salad into my lap. Gracefully done, though... my knife and fork remained in the correct cutting position on the plate even as it precariously wavered between being rescued and crashing into oblivion. Now, y'all would have been disappointed if I hadn't had something like that to report, wouldn't you!

We drove to this show, and it's always a delight driving up through Georgia and having the memories flood back. Seems every mile brings a reminder of past events, both major and minor, over the 23 years that we lived in the Atlanta area and made the trips back and forth from Florida and up through South Carolina. Many happenings that seemed not-so-good and even traumatic at the time, can be smiled at now.

On the way up, we stopped at the small cemetery off of I-75 and payed my Grandparents a visit. I had done this a couple of times but this was Mr Evo's first visit back. A tiny country church and cemetery near Chula, nestled amid white fields of Cotton. This was a good time of the year to visit, because the cotton fields were at their prettiest.

And, believe it or not, I do love the green, luscious expanses of Kudzu that flourish through north Georgia and South Carolina. This, also, was a good time to enjoy them again... before the first frosts brown the leaves.

Greenville was not one of our most profitable shows this year, but Mr Evo and I think it was the most enjoyable. We weren't over-tired, we had time to visit with customers and vendors, and we had the joy of having some of our family with us. Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. Well, maybe I would skip the salad. :}/
