Heyyyyyy, Folks...
Just returned late last night from the Las Vegas October show.
Evo! Did you visit booths to report back on new products???
"No, I didn't get to do that this time... sorry, folks." :{/
Evo, did Mr Evo visit booths???
"Yes, he did, but he sez he doesn't remember what he saw. Sorry, folks." :{(
And, Evo, did you have a good time????
"Yes! We had a ball!!!!!" :}>
So tell us about it, Evo.
"Awrite! Thank you for asking!" ;}>
Here's the show in a nutshell: All flights for us went smoothly. The show went smoothly. Our booth helpers were phenomenal! Big Rubber Bubbles to Mary K P and Susie K and Karen C and to Reah F from Michigan. And ... special Rubber Bubbles to Reah's hubby Jack for entertaining Mr Evo Saturday and detracting him from remembering the Fla-Ga football game was on tv at noon, LV time.
I couldn't help but look around and admire the special group of people that were at this show. As a group, all of you were stampers. That's special. And, as a group, you all shared common concerns as to what is happening to us and around us. That's doubly special. And, as a group, you still all came and let your presence be known. That's not just special ... that's phenomenal.
I want to share two special moments (out of many on this trip) with you.
Humorous moment: Two local Dallas Policemen passed by Mr Evo & myself yesterday afternoon in the DFW airport on our way home. They said, "Hello", then one did a double-take when he saw Mr Evo and said... "I think I know you!" Well, needless to say, Mr Evo tried to duck, but it turned out that the policeman really didn't know him (probably got him confused with Marlon Brando with a tad of Gene Hackman thrown in), and after 10 minutes of conversation, he gave Mr Evo a business card that sez... "Get out of jail free. Only valid while in the DFW airport." Then he gave Mr Evo a real business card and said, "Call me if you ever need me."
I'm saving that second card for real. You never know when Mr Evo might need it. ;}>
Unforgettable Moment: Friday afternoon, as Dale (Mr Evo) and I were driving back to our hotel from setting up for the show, I looked up into the sky and saw what looked like a shadow on the fluffy AZ clouds. The shadow was the perfect shape of a gigantic airplane, passing overhead. You could see the front of the plane, wings and half of its fuselage It took up at least 1/4 of the sky in front of us. I pointed and yelled "Dale, look!", pulled into the nearest area to park and reached for my camera. By the time I had parked and had the camera in hand, the shadow had changed. Still the front of the plane and wings but not the original image in its entirety. If my jet-lagged Fla body had not been so tired at this point, I probably would have gotten out of the car and snapped the picture anyway. As it was, I stayed in the car and started the engine again ... disappointed that I had missed the entire original illusion. I wish now that I had taken the picture anyway. As I pulled back into Las Vegas Blvd... a very real plane heading for the Las Vegas airport was in the sky just to the left of the shadow.
How do I interpret this wondrous cloud sight? I don't. I'm just in awe that I saw it and feel privileged to have seen it and am sooo sorry I didn't take that picture to share with you. That "very real plane" heading to the Las Vegas airport that afternoon made it safely. And we also made it safely on our flights to and from the Las Vegas show and on all the other six flights we've made since Sept 11 to and from shows.
Mr Evo and I refuse to be afraid to continue living a normal life and doing what we normally do. We can never and will never forget Sept 11 and the lives lost and all that is continuing to happen since then. But, we feel if we give into fear, then "they" have won.
See you at the Milwaukee show Nov 10 & 11! And... we're already scheduled for 10 shows next year. If one is near you??? And, if so, please come by and say, "Heyyyyy". OK?
Ellen :}> Evo
