Heyyy, Folks...
I'm a little late getting this report out, soooo...I'll make it brief. (Yeah, Evo, right! As if you could do that)
The flight to Live Oak, TX was great! Well, er, um... except the 45 minute wait in the plane in Dallas trying to get the Air Conditioning working right and then de-planing for 2 hours before getting back on again for the flight to San Antonio. My only question was... "If we could stand the A/C for 45 minutes of sitting on the ground... couldn't we have handled it for 15 minutes more for a 1 hour flight??" But then, whadda I know. We were given dinner tickets and a free 5 minute phone card for waiting to leave two hours later, sooooo I'm not really complaining.
Hot! Hot & Humid! We're used to hot in Live Oak, but it's usually a "dry heat" compared to Florida. But, this year, within the first half hour of landing in TX, I was sure my and Mr Evo's marriage wouldn't last an hour, much less another 40 years. I was cranky, he was cranky and cranky's not fun. Well, actually, it was a tad of fun... I can't deny being "cranky" with Mr Evo isn't all bad. We do it so well together! Once we hit the cool air-conditioning of the La Quinta though, the crankiness subsided, and by Friday morning we were up and raring to go set up for the show.
At this point, I want to insert an accolade for Heirloom Productions (Pat and Eileen Larson) for the professionalism of their shows. We've been doing Heirloom Shows since the Atlanta show in November, 1996 (our first year of doing rubber stamping shows). I cannot even begin to tell you how much we appreciate Pat and Eileen. Over the years we've gotten to know them and what they do better, and have grown to appreciate them more. This year, for the first time ever... we're doing every show they sponsor. Yes! Even Del Mar, CA! Soooooo, Del Mar goers... we'll see you in September! Be there, OK?????
Thanks to Sandy C for being at the Live Oak show for us Friday, Saturday and Sunday! And to Sandy's 14 yr old daughter Katie for being there Sat and Sun. Katie was a superb demo-er! The first time ever for her, and she was a pro... stippling and stamping and cutting and creating.
And thanks to Fran S for jumping in to give us breaks on both Saturday and Sunday. And to Kaye Lynne and Jerry! They were supposed to be there Saturday to help. Kaye Lynne came late Sat afternoon to let us know Jerry was in the hospital with a kidney stone, but they both would be at the show Sunday to help. Amazing. You can't keep good stampers down, folks.
Only 600 stampers attended on Saturday. But let me tell you, folks ... these stampers came and saw... attended classes, asked questions and purchased. And... many of you came back on Sunday! For real... a show is only as good as the stampers attending. Thank you for being there! And... if you weren't? We didn't talk about you while you were gone ... well, as long as we were in air-conditioning at the show and in the hotel, that is. ;}>
