Heyyy, Folks...

Arrived home at 8:30 am yesterday morning, crashed for the day and now, maybe, I'm ready to report on our Las Vegas show trip.

(I have to interrupt this show report to remind you of a classic golfing joke: Golfer came home from a golfing game. Told his wife... "Fred had a heart attack on the 12th hole". Wife sez... "How terrible!" Golfer sez... "Yes, it was ... for the last 6 holes it was... hit the ball and drag Fred, hit the ball and drag Fred... ). Hey, I didn't invent this joke, just trying to give you the picture of this weekend in Vegas. :}>

DD Cecilia (Cevo) hurt her leg on Easter Sunday on a mountain biking with hubby and 2 kids. She had received her bike for her birthday from hubby only a week before. Since we already had plane tickets to Vegas for her, she would not let this "minor" incident stop her from going. Sooooo, we provided her with crutches and wheel chair for the trip.

Our weekend? Work and push Cevo... Eat and push Cevo... Push a nickel in the slot machine and push Cevo... The up side of this is that the leg-muscles-work-out was wonderful for Mr Evo and myself. :}>

Don't think I've ever told you of Mr Evo's love for putting nickels and quarters into slot machines. Yep... sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but Mr Evo is not perfect. Sooooo, I took the walky talkies that son Dennis had given us for Christmas and patted myself on the back for this brilliant plan! Er, um, major flaw in this plan ... both walky talkies have to be turned on to work. I'm still working on an invention to jam Mr Evo's into a non-reversible "On" position.

My and Cevo's weekend???? Push the button and find Mr Evo... Push the button and remind Mr Evo... Push the button and give up on Mr Evo. Turns out we didn't really need the walky talky after all, though, because you stampers were quick to tell us where you saw Mr Evo last. We had our own private spynet of 100's of stampers! :}>

Coming home on the plane, everyone was allowed to sleep but me. OK, I snore. Is that such a big crime? Dale and Cecilia's mission for 4 hours??? Punch and wake Evo... Nudge and wake Evo... Jiggle an elbow and wake Evo... :{/

Thanks to Enchy and Robin and Helen and Serene and Iggy and umpteen other helpers and supporters in Vegas! We couldn't have done it without you. And thanks to soooo many of you that let us know who you were. For over 5 years, we've known so many of you by email or voice only... that's the beauty of shows... getting to see and know you in person. And a very special thanks to Kristin's Marine DH who loaded our bins up after the show as if they were feather weight. Wish you could be at every show!

The sponsors of the show, Stamp Oasis, were great. For us, the show was super fun and super tiring. We'll probably plan to do it again next year, but, we'll plan to arrive a day earlier to catch up with the time difference between FL and NV and the late night travel. That's a biggie, for sure.

By the way... next year's show is scheduled to be at the Riviera rather than Palace Station. Don't know if they'll plan to keep the Friday night "3 Hour Mad Dash" or not, but we would vote in favor of it. Would be fun to do it without the zombie-glazed eyes we had this year from traveling all night and getting into bed at 4:30 am, grabbing a few hours sleep, then setting up and having the sale at 6:00.

And, next year, we'll plan to arrive at the LV airport earlier for our return flight home. The entire tourist population of Las Vegas was lined up at the Delta counter Sunday night! We, along with Laura and Denyse of Lasting Impressions With Panache, were a tad panicky that we wouldn't have time to unload, check in and return the rental cars in time to make the flight. We made it, and I'm assuming they did, too.

Las Vegas. Wish you all could have been there!

Okey dokey... I'm starting on Thursday's email now and working my way forward. Bear with me... I'm by myself this morning. Dale had to take Cecilia to the hospital with her knee... hopefully they'll get an Orthopedic Doctor to see her. She hasn't been able to get an appointment to see one yet, and it looks as though this trip was a tad too much for her. Hey, but being the stamper she is, I'm sure she wouldn't have done it any differently if she had it to do over. That's the way stampers are ... yes, we are.
