Heyyyyyy, Folks...
Las Vegas show ... we went and we did.
Arrived home yesterday, and let me tell you we slid...
Immediately into bed.
Las Vegas is "another world"... don'tcha you know.
Time is different as in sometimes fast, sometimes slow...
But... it's all in the head.
Time is an illusion... and Las Vegas is the master
Of confusing us as to whether we're going slower or faster...
Should we sleep? Or stay up, instead?
Things to see and things to do
So many decisions that we have to wonder who
Thought up Las Vegas in the first place. On what planet were they bred?????? :{<>
This magical trip for Mr Evo and me was probably our last for a while to a Las Vegas show. RubberStamp RoundUp is moving to a different week next year... first weekend in April... which conflicts with another show we have done for years and will be doing again next year in Pennsauken, NJ. We hate to see that happen, but we accept it as reality.
Every trip to any show is different. Our trip to Las Vegas this year was a trip of "look-alike-twins".
Our helper, Mary K P from California, is a combined look-alike-twin of Mary Garvey and Lisa sassy stamper. The first time we met Mary P last year at the Del Mar show, Mr Evo & I both felt we already knew her. We finally figured out why.
And... I saw my sister Grace again from Phoenix... but not. Joan M was at our booth Saturday.
I said, "You look like my sister Grace from Phoenix!"
Joan M said, "You told me that last year!"
I said, "I forgot that (yet another of evo's show-mind whiteouts) but... you still look like my sister Grace!"
At the airport around 1:30 am Monday morning (when leaving Las Vegas), we saw Shannon Green from TX! Fortunately, I didn't rush up to "Shannon" and hug her, 'cause it really wasn't her. How do I know? I know because she was at least 3 inches shorter than Shannon, she didn't arrive in a limo, and she wasn't wearing white shoes... plus the fact that Shannon is a fantastic stamper, and this imposter didn't have a smidgen of ink on her fingers.
After landing in Tampa ... lo and behold... we saw Mary Kay of Stamp Camp. I kid you not... spitting image of Mary Kay. I started to rush over and hug her. Mr Evo restrained me.
He said, "It's not her."
I said, "How do you know????"
He said, "Because there's not a rubber stamp convention in FL this week."
I thought, "Well, what kind of logic is that????"
But... I sat still and behaved. Probably a good thang.
Mary Kay??? Was it you??? 'Fess up. What were you doing in FL?????:{<>
And then there was Nicholas Cage in the Tampa airport. I swear. Wearing a baseball cap. I only caught a quick glimpse of him as Mr Evo and I hit the "up" escalator as he was getting off the "down" escalator. OK, maybe it wasn't him... but I'm sure I recognized those innocent life-is-too-big-to-take-it-all-in blue eyes. But then again, maybe not. I'll never know, because Mr Evo wouldn't let me run back down the "up" escalator. :{/
And you thought this report was gonna be all about the show, didn't you? Well, it is, actually. I think the beauty of going anywhere is not only what happens at the event but also what happens in the "getting there" and the "returning from there".
And... each happening creates a memory, and memories are very precious things to be collected and cherished. I just wish Mr Evo had not restrained me from racing back down the up escalator to meet and hug Nicholas Cage. I'm sure Nicholas can live without that memory, but I'm soooooo sorry he missed me.
