Heyyyy, Folks...

November show in Milwaukee this past weekend ... yes, we did that!
I also took an extra "trip" Friday night in a parking lot ... as in "ker-splat"!
Not to worry! 'Cause I will live!
Just taking me a tad longer to type and to give
To you my last show/people report of the year 2001.

Right up front... first and foremost... I want to thank our booth helpers. Jan N and Lynese N for set-up help on Friday (before my not-so-famous-nose-dive later that evening) and again for your help all day Sunday and even staying for pack-up! :{<> And Saturday... Mega thanks to Gail T and Shelley M. Oh, how we needed you, and there you were. And special thanks to Francie F for allowing me to use you in my class Saturday to demo what my broken arm wouldn't allow me to do.

For the first time ever... I began my demo-class that day with a poem. It was off the top of my head, because I truly did not know how I could handle what I was scheduled to do with one arm not functioning. So... I winged it:

"My name is Evo, and rubber stamping is my game.
I fell last night, so today I am lame."

Then I saw Francie sitting in the first row. Now, what you need to know is that I had just met Francie in person that morning at our booth. And, you also need to know that we sent a check to Francie on Feb 24, 2000, for $4.50 that she over-paid on a mail-order that has been driving me crazy ever since, because she has never cashed or deposited that check! :{<>

Well, Francie got paid back royally last Saturday morning for torturing my checking acct balancing for a year and a half. Francie, thank you for being in my class and being willing to do stuff in front of an audience that you've never done before. And Francie, you were magnificent! You were superb! You shined! I had several people say to me later that week-end that YOU made my class a success.

I did more walking around at this show than usual because I couldn't demo or do the things I normally do, I guess. Looking back, I think I was still traumatized over falling the night before ... and yes, I did hurt. And as I walked around, I talked with people more than look at booths and products.

Sunday, though, I made a special trip to the Glue Dots booth. I LUV these things! I bought one package of the Pop Up Glue Dots and have spent the last 15 minutes playing with just one Dot! Glue Dots were featured in Vamp Stamp News a few months ago, and a sample was in the magazine. And the funny thing is that I recognized it as being a substance that had intrigued me a few months before that was holding a product to the packaging. These dots are sooooo neat! They come in 4 "flavors"... Mini, Memory Book, Pop Up and Craft. And, I think you'll be seeing these more in the future as a "must have".

Yes, I'm upset about my fall, but "stuff" happens, and yes, I did find the humor that I so desperately needed that Friday night.

When the taxi brought Mr Evo and I back to the motel from the hospital, there was a silver Cadillac hearse parked at the entrance to our room. Later, when I went out to our rental car to get something I had left there and needed, I couldn't resist. I looked into the back window of the hearse, and there was a cardboard carton there... about 24" by 24". That was all. On the side of the carton was printed ... "Keep Refrigerated"... and in big hand-written letters on the top of the box was written "MIKE". Clearly not a "working" hearse... just a vehicle like any other.

Entering our room, I looked at Mr Evo and said... "I feel so lucky. I'm sooooooo much better off than MIKE." ;}>
