Heyyy, Folks...
Ohhhh, my goodness, where to begin...
We went to the show and are now home again.
So much to report, so much to say
About this trip to Pennsauken, NJ.
The flight to Philly was nice... nothing much to mention...
Except for a couple of wing dips that caught our attention.
A perfect flight to anywhere can be boring,
So the dips perked us up! Quieted the snoring!
It took us approx 2 hours to fly from Cincy to Philly,
Then 2 hours to get our rental car ... isn't that silly????
First in line for the Dollar shuttle... (we waited 20 minutes or more)
But somehow lost out in the rush for the door.
So there we stood with our 6 bins forlorn,
420 pounds of stamping stuff, treated with scorn.
Not one of those scrambling passengers was a stamper I know ...
A stamper would have said, "You were first, please get on, see you at the show!"
Our skycap was super, never complained ...
About another long wait before trying again.
(Isn't poetic license wonderful??? I've used "again" twice so far... pronounced differently each time. :}>)
But, I digress...
Determined to direct the next shuttle to our bins and us,
I flew up the street and flagged down the bus...
When it stopped, I threw my body across the door,
Daring anyone to butt-in in line and to my horror...
There were only 3 other people waiting. :{/
And my theatrics probably made their day.
The best thing about our minivan taking soooo long to get, was that I met 1/2 of Bear Stamps when we finally got our vehicle and were trying to convince the guard that the only way we could get our 6 bins loaded into the car was to drive into the "bus only" lane for a few minutes where they awaited us. And, we ran into Bear Stamps again at the MacIntosh Inn, where we both were signing in at the same time. Friendly ladies, a joy to meet ... so glad we got to meet you.
Highlights of the show:
Jannie Q dropped off chocolate/peanut butter TastyCakes Friday during set-up on her way to help Radiant Pearls. Ohhhhhh, myyyyyy.... sooooooo good. A specialty of that area and worth test-tasting. Next time you're there, you gotta try just one.
A news item in Philadelphia while we were in the area for the show ... a 27 yr old male assaulted the Liberty Bell with a miniature hammer. After much thought, I figure if he had been into rubber stamping, he could have better worked out any frustrations he had by stippling. As every stamper knows, stippling regulates your blood pressure, regulates your heartbeat, relieves anxieties and save relationships. And, he wouldn't have been arrested for stippling. Unless he did it on the Liberty Bell, that is. :{/
I managed to cruise around a tad Sunday... I always try to do that to see what's happening at the show around me. It's easy to get caught up in our own little world, and I want to see what the rest of the world is doing! Things that caught my eye right off the top of my head in my quick look-see (wish I could have seen everything)...
Stamp Cabana had corner slot punches at a good price. I love corner slot punches ... they're perfect for using with your EvoTemplates in stamping and scrapbooking (nawwww, not a plug just fact). Another Stamp Company had Posh Rainbow Inks and did fantastic things with them with sponges. Inky Antics had instruction booklets written by Debbie Gimbel that looked really interesting. Coffee Break had Virtual Reality Paper that you stamp on then view through 3D glasses. Stamporium had oh, so beautiful metallic stickers to adorn your creations, and... my memory fails. I managed to write down some stuff to remind me of what I saw, but I forget where I put what I wrote! :{<>
Thanks to Lynne O'D for your superb help during set-up Friday. You made it soooo easy. And thanks to the crew from CT and and other far places for your help preparing product Friday... Betsy and Lisa and Marcia and Liz and Nancy and Cindy and Jenny (newly-wed for a week only and still at the show!). You whipped through a LOT of work in a short period of time.
And thanks to Mary Ann G and Trish S and Dee M and Karen H and Nancy VanT for being there all weekend for us. We truly could not have done this busy show without you.
And thanks to 4 year old Emily who sat and stippled around templates at our booth, proving it really is soooooo easy. I have a picture of Emily stippling if you would like to see it. In front of her is a butterfly card created by Nyssa... a 3 yr old stamper from California:
Emily Stippling
You know what I like about stamping?
It's for everyone. Even Mr Evo.
And a special stamped and stippled bouquet of Orchids to Cevo who makes our travelling to the shows soooooo easy, because she takes care of our business and your orders while we're gone. A double bouquet of orchids to you, Cevo, for this past weekend. And you know why.
And Orchids to all of you for making this show a success and a joy for us... we appreciate you!
